THE MAHABHARATA

The restoration of The Mahabharata is part of the Peter Brook Centenary's celebrations.

Supported by the French National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC) and carried out by TransPerfect Media France laboratories, this 8K / 'super 4K' restoration is a first in France for a heritage film.

The restored version of Peter Brook's epic masterpiece thus serves as a showcase of French artistic and technical skills, demonstrating French expertise to cinephiles and the international press.

Just as in 1989, the restored version of The Mahabharata will have its world premiere at the Venice Festival 2024, in the 'Venice Classics' section.

After the City of the Doges, The Mahabharata will embark on a world tour of special screenings accompanied by a delegation of actors and team members led by Simon Brook.
